A Generative Writing Workshop inspired by the Celtic Wheel

The Celtic Wheel is the ancient calendar which our Celtic and pre-Celtic ancestors used. It is rooted in the rhythms of nature and relies upon the interconnectedness of all things. It maps a sacred cycle of birth, death and rebirth which applies not only to nature, but to our creative dreams and projects.

You are invited to join this generative writing workshop which is aligned with the rhythms of the Celtic Wheel. Everything in life is cyclical, and every season has its own unique energy and meaning. Together, we will track the seasonal changes and explore what it means for our creative work.

Each workshop will take place over two concurrent Saturday afternoons in line with the seasonal solstices and equinoxes. Our primary goal is to encourage writers to deepen their creative practice and enjoy the experience of creation rather than aiming for any particular outcome.

Each workshop will include seasonally appropriate reflections, prompts, group work and some dedicated writing time. Each participant will receive a copy of the class worksheets and will  have an opportunity to submit a piece (max 2000 words) for feedback. They will also be encouraged to continue their creative exploration outside of our time together.

Each writing workshop will take place between 2pm and 4pm on two concurrent Saturdays, the week before and after that season’s solstice or equinox. If you can only attend one of the two workshops, you are still welcome to come along.

The four seasonal workshops are designed to inform and relate to each other, but they also work as a stand alone experience.
