Writing about trauma 1:1 consulting sessions
You have a story to tell. Perhaps it's one you've been carrying for years. Perhaps you've started writing it, only to find yourself stuck, overwhelmed or unsure what comes next.
You know the story matters. You want to do it justice. But how do you write honestly about painful experiences without losing yourself in the process? How do you decide what to share, what to keep private, and when something is ready to leave your desk?
I'd love to help you work through those questions.
I'm Clare Egan, a writer, creative mentor and founder of Life after Trauma. I work with writers who are exploring trauma, grief, violence, illness and other difficult experiences in their writing.
My approach combines thoughtful editorial engagement with a trauma-informed understanding of the emotional complexities of this work. I'll take your writing seriously, ask smart questions, gently challenge your assumptions, and help you find a way forward that feels right for you.
You don't have to choose between telling the truth and taking care of yourself. And you don't have to figure it all out on your own.
